Again I will no longer be updating this blog and appreciate all your guys's support through the years! Love you guys! xoxo Emily Hello! Happy belated Valentines day:) I hope you all had the chance to spend yesterday with the people you love. Today I have a mini review on the Revlon Gel Envy nail polish. I purchased two of the shades, one being a sparkly shade and another one a deep red so I could see the difference in how they stay on the nails. Revlon describes this nail polish as being a base coat and color in one and that the shades create vivid color, brilliant shine, and gorgeous life resistant wear. Well..life resistant wear is not proven to be true considering there was quite a bit of chipping after only three days. That is what I expect with a normal nail polish not with something that is a gel polish. The shades, however, are beautiful and they have 30 shades to choose from. The polish did remain shiny after four days even though there was chipping. (Note: I did not wear the gel-envy diamond top coat. I wore another revlon quick dry top coat.) These are good polishes if you want to change your nail color every couple of days, however with the amount of chipping I had, I would be better off with a normal nail polish. I hope you enjoyed this review and happy valentines day again <3 Hello my loves! I hope you all have been great and are enjoying the new year! Today my Instyler Max came in and I was super duper excited. I have seen this Instyler on QVC and infomercials since I was 10...or maybe even younger. But after so many years, and seeing multiple YouTubers use it, I decided to give it a try! The Instyler has a rotating barrel which can go inwards or outwards, all you have to do is press the handle together two times. It also has the ability to curl and straighten your hair which I loveeee plus there is a brush on one end which brushes your hair as you style it which is very convenient! The Instyler Max come in black, pink, and purple and I purchased the purple one. It comes with a safety kit, a cloth to set it on, and a wide-toothed comb. Another thing that is great about this product is that it heats up in 30 seconds! This is a product that I have been using for my dry hair! It is a coconut milk for dry hair but I love that is it not as oily as a coconut oil or a moroccan oil would be! It can also be applied all over the hair so it nourishes your whole head The final result! To do these loose waves all you have to do is wrap a piece of hair around the barrel and clamp it down allowing the barrel to rotate. Then let go of the hair and this is what ya get! This device is very self explanatory and it gives you a picture of how to do different types of styles! Funny picture of me using the instyler :) I Highly recommend this product even if you think you have highly unmanageable hair! I hope you found this helpful :) Love, Emily Hello my loves! Merry Christmas and happy new year! I know I haven't posted in awhile. I have honestly just been in a lazy funk for awhile especially with break and what not. But I have a beautiful Updo that is perfect for every occasion! To begin this look start by creating a deep side part. After split a part of your bangs (a small part of the front of the hair) into three equal sections, like you are about to start a normal braid. Braid these sections as a normal Dutch braid which is when you braid the hair under NOT over. Then create a Dutch French braid which is done by adding hair to the side sections and continuing to braid it under. (There are a lot of great tutorials on YouTube if you get confused on how to Dutch braid :) After all of the hair has been Dutch French braided, continue the braid till you reach the bottom of the hair. Start pulling the hair in order to create a fuller and voluminous looking braid. After this is done, start to wrap the braid around in the back of the head pinning as you go. Then you are finished! Hope you enjoyed this! Please try this look out and send it to me on my tumblr chickensoupforemilyssoul.tumblr.com Xoxo Emily Hello my lovelies!
So my skincare routine is ALWAYS changing but most of the time many things remain the same. I have combination skin meaning my skin is sometimes normal, sometimes, oily, and sometimes dry making my routine very difficult to maintain. However, there is one thing I do every. single. day. I take off my makeup. This is something you should always do before you go to sleep. This prevents infections or sty's in your eyes in addition to declogging your pores from the makeup. Morning routine: Wash face with olay fresh effects cleanser Clinique dramatically different oily skin moisturizer Sunscreen Nighttime routine: Garner oil Neutrogena eye makeup remover St ives blackhead scrub Clinique clarifying lotion Clinique dramatically different oily skin moisturizer Loreal age defying eye cream I do not use a toner because I hate the way it feels on my face. However the clinique clarifying lotion acts as a toner. Obviously I could use a thousand different serums and what not but I try to keep my routine fairly simple so that it is easy to do every morning and night. Hope you found this interesting and I hope you have a great day! xoxo Emily Hello loves! This is a smoky eye I did the other day and it was actually pretty simple! I plan on getting a YouTube account pretty soon so that I can show you how I do these makeup look for in detail.
First, I applied a piece of Scotch tape from my lower lash line to the end of my brow so that my wing would have a clean edge. Then, I applied Oil Slick from the Urban Decay Ammo Palette across my lash line up into a wing on the edge of the tape. Then I blended this all out with my NYC Sunny bronzer. I applied Promise by Tarte onto the lips to finish off the lips! Try out this look I would love to see how you recreated it! Emily <3 Face: Covergirl 3 in 1 foundation (nude beige) That gal face primer Oil free moisture by proactive Mac ski finish natural Tarte Amazonian clay blush in peaceful Bobbi brown concealer in light to medium bisque Translucent pearl highlighter by physicians formula NYC bronzer in sunny Eyes: Urban decay ammo palette-sin over lid and mildew in crease NYX Super skinny marker Double date by Clinique for eye brows Maybelline big eyes mascara Hope you enjoyed this! Love Emily:) Hello loves! Happy Friday!!! The weekend is finally here :) I hope everyone has had a good week! Next week is homecoming week and I have been super stressed about decorated for the dance. However, I am still looking forward to wearing my new dress and getting all dolled up! But...what makeup should I wear with my dress? This is a question I often get from my family and friends who have a dress for a party but don't know what type of makeup to wear with it. My friend recently asked me if she should wear blue eyeliner with her coral dress, and I knew I needed to make a post about this! I'm basically going to go through all of the different color of dresses out there! Blues, teals, greens: Embrace your blacks, silvers, and jewel tone shadows! These dresses make a huge statement with their jewel tone shade so try a dramatic winged liner! Pinks, reds: Blacks, neutrals, browns For your red dress go with a simple winged liner or a black smoky eye! Don't be afraid of wearing a red lip with your red dress! Just make sure if you do a red lip you keep it simple on the eyes! Otherwise go for a nude lip with a smoky eye. For a pink dress go with your browns, neutrals, and light pinks! If you are wearing a coral dress, keep it simple with a neutral eye and a pink lip! Black, silver, white, or gold dress: Go nuts with color if you have a black or silver dress. And I mean that. Hot pink lip, electric blue eyeliner, purple smoky eye; don't let anything stop you! You can still use any neutral color you want! Gold or white dress? Keep it neutral with your blacks, browns, and golds for the yes. With a white dress you can pretty much do anything on the lips. and last but not least..Purple dresses: Bronze it up! A tan, bronzed loop is gorgeous with purple dresses! You can wear a light purple or pink shadow or something neutral. Any lip color looks gorgeous on a dark purple dress but if your dress is more lilac, stick to your light pinks! Did you find this post helpful? Comment below!
Have a great weekend! xoxo Emily |
