Hi my loves! People always say, "I wanna lose weight" or "I wanna put on more muscle," but they don't always know how to get there. For me, I want to become faster in cross country and decrease my body fat. But it's not just having a hard workout once a week or eating REALLY clean for a week. Healthy eating and working out need to become a part of your lifestyle.
I little background on me. I started running when I was eleven and came to love long distance running. I didn't start going to the gym and really working out until I was thirteen and just wanted to have something to do. However, when I went into high school, I started to eat less. It wasn't that I was trying to lose weight. I just thought the thinner I am the faster I will be. But that was not the case. I lacked energy and felt extremely guilty when I would just eat a piece of cake. I didn't realize I needed more calories! I eventually gained my muscle and weight back by doing Insanity that Christmas and learned a lot more about nutrition. My sophomore year I ate clean. So clean. I worked out every single day no matter what. I eventually learned that eating super clean was making me cranky, and I no longer enjoyed eating out with friends because it made me feel guilty. Now, I can say I am at a good place with my health. I have found the balance between restricting myself and letting myself go.
Here are just some of my tips to not only be healthy now but a year from now by making healthy living more of a lifestyle than a diet
Much love,
Emily

- Don't have a cheat meal/day. Having a set cheat meal will make you feel like you are restricted the rest of the week. Let youself eat things in moderation.
- If you want to lose body fat: Don't workout. TRAIN. Yes there is a difference. Don't just take a stroll, do a high intensity workout at least three times a week.
- Be active. Not when your just working out but all day! Bike to work, take the stairs, do little things that keep you moving!
- Love yourself. Don't let fitspo boards on Pinterest or the model in the magazine make you feel like your not good enough. Because if you love yourself, you will make healthy decisions for you and your body.
Much love,
Emily
