Hi loves! So as I have mentioned before I run cross country and track at my high school! When I tell people I enjoy going on a 6 mile run, they usually look at me like I'm nuts. While a one mile run might be my teams warm up, it can be someone's workout for the day! But the problem a lot of people have when it comes to running, is wanting to move forward way too fast! When I started track, I could barely run a half a mile without getting winded. I could not imagine signing up for a half marathon or doing cross country at all! But now that I'm a senior it's so satisfying looking back and knowing how far I've come.
If you want to start running, start small. It will help you prevent against injury. Don't start too fast either! Go at a comfortable pace!
Sign up for a run! Once you start to compete, every time you get a personal best you will be able to see how far you have come!
Get fit for the right shoes! Go to a running specialty store to get fitted to help prevent against injury. I personally prefer nikes to any other shoe. I had ascics for a while but I always was getting hurt! My injuries went away when I got a shoe that worked better for my foot!
Stay strong. Don't just run! Workout your core especially! It is so important to be strong in the rest of your body to help you with your running!
That's all for today! Love you!
